Suite of applications that provides for the synchronization of independent broadcasts via intelligent broadcast automation. Most typically used for syncing commercial spots on television and radio broadcasts that share the same content but not the same spots.

BroadcastSync 

A suite of applications, built on the VDS Cortex platform that allows broadcast or media companies to synchronize content delivery across multiple platforms, Television, Radio, Web, and Mobile  even if they are using different station or facility automation systems for each entity.

Examples include:

  • Television and Satellite Radio - BroadcastSync uses a real-time process to monitor the playlist information onbroadcast sync a television automation system and generate DTMF tones for a radio simulcast.  At the heart of the application is the VDS Sentinel Interface which receives real time playlist information and status from automation. Through this proprietary VDS interface, BroadcastSync is continuously in sync with the events playing under the control of the automation system, including events with changed durations or start times.

    Through this proprietary VDS interface, BroadcastSync stays in lock step with automation, continuously monitoring the on-air playlist and tracking the actual start and end time of every event.  As the events playout BroadcastSync sends triggers at precisely the right moment.  With instant access to timing information BroadcastSync automatically detects the slightest chance in timing, durations and playlist edits, so it’s always perfectly in time with your primary program.

    BroadcastSync, along with a compatible DTMF tone encoder, generates DTMF tones at the start and end of commercial breaks which can then be received by radio partners. This insures complete coordination of advertising and sponsor events on the radio broadcast as the television broadcast sets and adjusts their schedule as needed.

  • Synchronizing Disaster Recovery Facility with Primary Facility - BroadcastSync has full visibility to all playlist information making it ideal for handing off timing triggers and playlist data to other systems and platforms.  BroadcastSync can listen to the playlist information on the primary automation system and hand this off to the Disaster Recovery automation system.  BroadcastSync is the only fully automated solution that can synchronize automation play lists, even if the automation systems are from different manufacturers

    In this way, the Disaster Recovery facility is always in sync with Primary Facility.
