PromoLite

is a suite of applications that provides extensive capabilities for the automatic playback of graphics including promos. By automating the repetitive manual processes normally used to generate broadcast promos and branding, PromoLite significantly streamlines the process. This enables reduced costs of operation and more efficient use of graphics as well as promotions and engineering resources. In addition, as promos can now be generated without the potential errors of current methods and with much less effort, broadcasters can realize substantial increases in flexibility and speed in graphics generation.




PromoLite consists of several applications that are managed by VDS Cortex, which also provides security functions as well as generating PromoLite’s distributed web interface. Permissions can be customized for each user account in Cortex with accounts tied to different departments having access to interfaces and functionality specific to their role.

From this interface, users schedule promos by choosing an event template and providing the on air date and time, as well as specific text and images. Graphic templates are populated with the specified data and triggered according to the schedule.  The user can also choose to override time offsets at this stage, if desired.
